    Dear members,

My wife and I were shopping yesterday when we saw the attached sign. It's a campaign that malls like Makro seem to have made with the government.

I saw a nice Samsung, 32' smart TV for 8,450 baht. Our shopping was already 4 K plus, so I bought the TV as a Christmas present for wifey, son and me.

The problem was that I needed my passport and had to drive back to get this done on the same day. And I also had to check if it fits and it turned out that it seems to be the perfect size.

As far as I understand it, the 15 K promotion's running from the 14th until the 31st of December.

I thought I better post it here as Christmas is heavily knocking on our doors and a Smart TV is hopefully something that lasts long.

Our son already received his present in form of an IBM PC, second hand but best quality.

P.S. I'm not 100 % certain if the given information is true, any input regarding that matter would be deeply appreciated. Sorry, for the bad quality of the photo(s)

Thanks a lot in advance for doing so. :runaround:part time

    Thanks for the info Sirchai.

I'd take back the TV though, the picture is way too blurred

Thanks a lot for the wake-up call. "Not for foreigners" doesn't really surprise me. But I'll try it.

My wife can't be covered in my SS, a Thai teacher can cover a foreigner without a question.

No, there's no double standard, I also pay 20 baht for the flowers at the traffic lights.

But at least I'm allowed to pay taxes. Hurray. Yabba Dabba Doo....:cursing

No worries, the picture's great. What I don't like is the online thingy and I'm really too busy to figure that all out now.

At 0:57 it says: "Foreigners do not gain from this scheme". Unbelievable, or?

Actually, perfectly believable: the Thainess cocoon only benefits those within its bubble...a good example of Third World ethnocentrism.

That's something I still have to find out at the local tax department. I'll let you know.

The video clearly states that the rebate is not open for foreigners. I tick that box
I pay tax. Second box ticked

With two ticks do I get the rebate?

    Sirchai got it.
