My school filed my tax return before 1 April. A couple of weeks later I got an SMS from the Revenue Department to submit some additional information and did.

This will be the first year that I'll hopefully get tax back. It all had to do that I changed jobs. That is, from a well paid to poorly paid job. Sh-/:;(£ happens.

When can I expect a cheque from the Revenue Department?

    Thanks.

I filed my tax return also before April 1st. I went with my wife personally to the tax office. We were in and out within 20 minutes. After a couple of weeks we received a letter that the tax office wanted some more papers. I got a check from the tax office within about 2.5 months. Because my wife isn't working and our daughter go to school, I got back almost 4000 baht. Very nice!

No Stamp, I think it was in June, but I have to say we were very early filing our tax return.
To be exact, I received the cheque from Revenue Office, beginning of June, it was dated May 31st.

Today I went to the Provincial Revenue Department together with Nin our Foreign Relations Officer. My cheque that didn't arrive will be declared void. A new cheque will be sent in a couple of weeks. Have to wait! 8,000+ THB. :verysad:

I find it astounding that the folks who figure tax got it wrong to the tune 8000 baht over the course of. The year. In the 7 years I have been here, my tax return has always been well under 1000 baht. Not sure why anyone would want to let the revenue dept hold onto money that belongs to the taxpayer...

That would be the school, they don't pay the tax until the end of the year. If they are making deductions from salaries, they are using teacher money to paint the front fence and the rocks whenever somebody important is coming. I let the schools do the tax stuff for the first few years I was here. For the last five years I have done it all myself without any problems or school ripoffs.
